There are vast offers of hostels in Serbia's capital. Most young people from all over the world prefer to opt for this type of accommodation.

There is a good reason for this preference. The main reasons are low accommodation prices, a “domestic” atmosphere, and friendly staff.

Hostels In Belgrade By Location

Belgrade has several small districts and municipalities. Each of them has its distinct character, which makes exploring Belgrade fun. It's a beating heart of the city.

When deciding on a hostel location in Belgrade, it will depend on your interest and what you plan to see in Serbia's capital. Hostels are ideal for a two-day stay in the Old Town district.

When choosing the best location of Belgrade hostels, Old Town (Stari Grad) district will be first on the list. It's a beating heart of the city.

Stari Grad stretches around the centuries-old Belgrade Fortress, set where the Danube and the Sava meet, offering an incredible view from the surrounding park.

Nearby Republic Square is home to the National Museum and the National Theater, while the pedestrian Kneza Mihaila street offers fashion and souvenir shops, cafes, and bars.

Numerous restaurants with international cuisine also differentiate the area. If I add to that the bohemian street – Skadarlija, it's clear why a first-time visitor should look for accommodations here.

Savamala District

Beton Hala Savamala

Savamala district of Belgrade is one of the most popular places to visit Belgrade. It is a story about this unique district narrated by Leijla Dizdarevic from Itinari.com

Savamala district proudly carries a rich heritage of precious history. When you are there, the overall feeling is simply magnificent, especially during the warmer months. Take a stroll through the narrow streets, admire the architecture, and merely observe.

In the Savamala district, you can see the most famous murals and graffiti, the most outstanding architectural trademarks of the former industrial zone, excellent art galleries, cultural center, Belgrade Waterfront project, and many more.

Take part in one of the many art tours in this zone!

Savamala is exceptionally inspiring, and there are always things to explore there. As it is by far one of the most popular places to go out to, stay tuned for the unique guide into Savamala nightlife and Savamala street art.

Summer Hostels in Belgrade

In Belgrade, the summer can be boiling and sultry in July and August. Many Belgraders and tourists flock to the rivers, the Sava, and the Danube.

The life lands towards the rivers, where refreshment is easy to find. The confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers is a perfect place to find a lovely floating hostel on the rivers.

I recommend two hostels. Both are floating, as they are on the Save and Danube rivers.

Arkabarka Floating Hostel
Located at the bank of the Danube River, Arkabarka is a charmingly unique boat hostel & guesthouse in Belgrade. Surrounded by the river on one side and one of the most beautiful central parks of the city on the other, the place is a remarkable retreat for urban people, nature lovers, bicyclists, backpackers, and independent travelers.
